About Me

I’m Nicole, 5th grade teacher and mom of 5. I love coming up with engaging ways to teach my students, and I’m all about efficiency. (I have to be, with my crazy life!) I frequently describe my life as a juggling act, in which balls are constantly dropping. My good friend took it a step further and described it as just laying in the ball pit making snow angels. That’s probably more accurate.

In my classroom, I’m a fan of flexible seating, self-running systems, and students owning their learning. My undergraduate degree was in computers, which contributes to the fact that I’m a huge advocate of technology integration. My class has 1:1 chromebooks, and I’m a Google Certified Educator.

I’ve taught K, 1, 2, 4, and 5, plus 3rd grade intervention. When asked which is my favorite, I will tell you that there are pros and cons to each, and I’ve loved different things about each one. However, upper grades fits me best at my current stage in life with little ones of my own. (A girl can only handle so much clinging and whining in a day, am I right?!)

In my spare time, I love to relax with my family, read, and travel. I love musical theater, and I’m a firm believer that a life without tacos is no life at all.

Teaching is a hard, but amazing job. We can all help lift each other a little by sharing. I hope you find that here, and leave feeling a little “elevated!”
